Corporate Champions for Women & Children 2019

The GFWC-NC Corporate Champions for Women and Children Awards Banquet, held October 17, 2019, at the Hilton Charlotte City Center, recognizes corporations and businesses for their outstanding support of Women & Children’s issues in our local communities. This year’s honorees include Novant Health, Charlotte Motor Speedway, and Joe Lamb, Jr. & Associates, Inc.

Novant Health, with 15 medical centers, 1,500 physicians in over 500 locations, and more than 27,000 employees statewide, works tirelessly to improve the lives of women and children. They understand the unique needs of women. Specialists use their expertise to create an environment of focused care helping women live longer, healthier lives at every stage of life. Novant’s presence in communities across the state from Charlotte to Bolivia – Brunswick County, provide amazing opportunities for women and children in the areas of health and education.

Charlotte Motor Speedway, known for being “fans first,” was “community first” during its Service Days, which saw speedway employees spend the day volunteering their time doing everything from painting and pressure washing to cooking meals, installing light fixtures, spreading mulch, and reading to children at five area nonprofit organizations. Speedway Children’s Charities has had a huge effect by raising hundreds of thousands of dollars with the goal of reaching as many children as possible by supporting those agencies that are the unsung heroes in many communities.

Joe Lamb, Jr. & Associates, founded in 1968 by Ann and Joe Lamb, Jr., has been a pillar of the Outer Banks Community since the beginning. Their small staff offers genuine and individual attention to homeowners and guests alike. Their contributions to local organizations such as Mano Al Hermano, Dare County School System, Outer Banks Relief Foundation, and The Outer Banks Hospital, has provided support for women, children, and families. They are a company based on family values, that continues to flourish because they honor the principles of trust, loyalty, and tradition.
