As we move into the month of May and with our 119th Virtual Convention successfully completed, NOW is the time to share your members’ and club’s accomplishments. Most clubs use their May meeting as their Annual or End of Year Celebration and it is at these meetings where members are recognized for their hard work with special awards. Some clubs present certificates and even silver to these club women and take photos as we have done at Convention for many years.
Do you ever post those special pictures on social media or do you just tuck them away? Ask your Social Media Chairman to get busy and GET CREATIVE!! This is the perfect time to revamp your social media activity:
- Mix up your post formats – utilize free creative designs such as Canva and drop those photos on a background that makes your post POP! https://www.canva.com/
- Go LIVE! Have an “After Party” celebration like at the Oscars – “interview” your winners with their certificates and awards if given. Save the video on your page for others to view later!
- Post during the hot times members are generally on – is it in the late morning? Early afternoon? Late in the evening? Grab that opportunity to SHINE!!
The month of May also brings a close to the last “season” of the GFWC Recruitment Campaign for this club year. Be sure you submit your new members you gained in March, April, and May on the GFWC Seasonal Recruitment Campaign Report – check the box for Spring. The deadline is June 1 and the address to send or email to GFWC is on the bottom of the form and be sure to send a copy to Kim Fulcher, GFWC-NC Membership Chair, at kefulcher@gmail.com, or 6320 Winthrop Drive, Raleigh, NC 27612. If you cannot locate the form, please let Kim know and it will be sent to you!
