Legislative Issues

The Federation supports legislative issues through our state Resolutions and those of our parent organization GFWC. On the national level there is a staff person who is our advocate on Capitol Hill. Important issues are shared through the legislative updates in the GFWC Clubwoman.


On the state level we are part of a group known as NC Women United which focuses on current legislative issues. Should your club decide to get behind an issue contact your legislators directly at www.ncga.state.nc.us.

This year the Dunn Intermediate Woman's Club decided to tackle an issue of funding for hearing and sight impaired individuals. Their newsletter recently reported in their newsletter that their campaign was a success. As Margaret Mead once said, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."
