March 1 is the application deadline for the District Scholarship Chairman to have the district scholarship winner's name and information in the hands of the GFWC-NC Sallie Southall Cotten Scholarship Chairman. Awarded to an outstanding high school senior (male or female) who will graduate from an accredited high school in North Carolina and is sponsored by a Federated Club. The scholarship this administration will be $22,000: $5,500 per year for four years.Criteria for scholarship judging shall be based on character, scholastic record, demonstration of ambition and leadership, potential to succeed and financial need. Students must have a scholastic record which places them in the upper fourth of their class.
